Global Supply Manager

Job Description:
- Participates on cross-functional Commodity Team to develop metrics, strategies and objectives
- Manages and implements key projects to achieve strategic initiatives as required.  
- Participates in the development of strategies to improve overall supplier scorecard performance and reports supplier performance
- Drives suppliers to improve their scorecard performance and report supplier performance
- Coordinates Asian-based supply and monitor supply against demand
- Coordinates global supply and demand efforts w/Austin-based OCM and Asian-based suppliers
- Manages global supply and demand where OCM function resides in Asia
-Performs short-term capacity analysis for their commodity, identifies industry constrained components, and develops strategies to mitigate shortages
-Communicates and coordinates with Austin-based OCM to mitigate supply imbalances with supplier
- Manages transitions globally to minimize excess and obsolete inventory (E&O) and participates in E&O Mitigation strategy
  
Job Requirement :
- University graduate in Electronic Engineering or Mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline
- 10 years of Commodity Management / International procurement experience
-Notebook/PC commodities supply demand/supply chain management expertise. Very experienced in supply base/component sources, and viable suppliers selection criteria.  
- Familiar with Notebook/PC manufacturing process
- Being able to do quick assessment on market/industry/product related research/investigation
- Quick and good at adopting/learning new practice, dealing with ambiguity, priority setting, and driving for result meeting or exceeding company expectation
-Strong communication skills; proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin)
-Aggressive, responsive, and great communication/presentation skill.  Able to work both independently and with teammate fulfilling assignment effectively

常有候选人看到JD上的说明后被吓住了阵脚
原本雄心勃勃。。。打起了退堂鼓
JD只是用人单位的一种期望值，只是对职位的一种简单说明
JD上的职位，有的写的是Director,有的是Manager
不要被前者吓住了，也不要对后者轻视，以为是小菜一碟
事实上顾问和候选人都要仔细分析JD中到底想表达这个企业的用人意图
为什么有这个岗位？这个岗位到底最看中候选人的哪方面能力？
有这样一个CASE，某IT公司需要一为需求分析经理，JD上有要求IT背景或IT专业毕业
那没有IT背景的是否就没有机会呢？不是
这个职位的核心应该是分析能力，对市场需求的分析能力
IT背景只是一种优先权
于是我们找到了一位在快消行业做需求分析的经理，
果然，客户十分看好他，并要给他OFFER
结果候选人临时失去了信心，万一我去了无法胜任怎么办？
从快消进入高科技行业是很多品牌经理人的想法，
可他退缩了，其实他对风险的看法还是看的不广
他，猎头，企业，三者之间都有风险
三个月如果他无法胜任，猎头有赔偿退款的风险
企业为他浪费了一个重要岗位同时又要花时间去寻找人才
为避免风险猎头和企业都会仔细分析和考核他，
还有位候选人更有意思，怎么只面试了一次就要给我OFFER啊

拜托，猎头和企业招人从来就不是过家家
一次就看中你是因为之前对你有分析，当中有方法，同时还有对比
甚至从侧面已经了解过你。。。。。
总而言之，对于放在你面前的机会
试一试也不掉肉，掉也是掉猎头和企业的肉
你怎么就不知道自己不能胜任呢？？

henry：想请问一个关于hr的问题。作为一个理工科背景的人，想在某个公司从事hr的工作，我觉得有两条路。一条是刚开始就作hr，可是这样的缺陷是招理工科背景的应届生作hr的企业似乎不多，起点可能很低了。还有一种办法是先在工程类的岗位上作出成绩，并有意识地向hr方向转，这样起点高，而且具有一般hr所不具备的一线工作的经验以及对具体工作要求的了解，似乎更好。不知道你怎么看。
