SUN公司去年业绩大幅下滑，认证不值钱啦。赶快去学IBM的AIX吧，没必要再这里讨论SOLARIS了！

喂，moenxu ，留点口德！首先我不是IBM公司，也不是做IBM的工程师！我只不过提醒大家一个发展方向，大家都是初学，学SOLARIS和学AIX起点一样，为什么不学一个更有前途的技术，大家还不是为了多赚点钱吗？

most of my friends, including myself as well, do not have favorable opinion about AIX. however, given ibm's record track, there is really chance aix will become more popular. it's aggressively going forward on a few fronts. on db, it's db2 is going against oracle, on java, it's java tools (visual age) and app server (websphere) are competiting with other vendors. ibm is like microsoft. it might be a bit slow to react, but you can't never underestimate it.

otoh, the reason for sun's poor performance recently is mostly due to dot bomb and competition from high-end pc. i don't think it's because of aix. having said that, i won't mind getting a certification on aix and db2. never hurt to have certs, only if i have time...
