实际上本身在大公司工作过几年的专业的DBA在lay off 前读拿着很高的salary和期权，在lay off后就算想和廉价的dba竞争也很难，因为真正有高端需求的企业的DBA是不会被lay off的，最多减少收入，而且dba这行流动性小，所以剩下的有关DBA职位读已经是很普通的企业或小企业提供的，所以对人的要求不是很高类似打杂型的人才。另一方面，这专业DBA的问题是钻的很深，然后年龄比较大，所以年龄歧视和某些心理因素导致了高手在canada反而找不到工作。

加拿大和美国的企业在招聘时不允许询问被招聘人的年龄。
大部分DBA被裁员是因为本部门被解散或整个公司结束营业。
目前DBA的工资并没有明显的，大幅的降低。

我的意思是说高端需求随着经济方面的下滑而减少，所以很多要求不高的职位，当然会给一些价格比较低的初级DBA，所以很多若干年经验的反而不好找！

I agree.
It is hard to present your skills to people who have a different cultural background in a proper way when you are given an interview. Once you passed this point you will find out that your colleagues don't look as much knowledgeable as you thought.
For the job hunter getting certified is just to give the HR people more opportunities to look at your Resume. That's it.
I had nearly 8 year IT working experiences before I came here. I sent dozens of Resumes out but I didn't get a single job interviews until I finished the IT Certification. After that I got 7 interviews a day. See what difference it is. This experience happened 4 years ago but I believe it still applies to the current job seekers. So keep going.....
