I have almost the same experience with yours. I finished 8i OCP test last Nov. and got an offer this Jan. although I had no DBA experience in China.
I got a lot help from ITPUB. Thanks a lot.

其实除了TPUB, 我周围这样的例子还有很多:

没有一点IT经验的人不但在美国和加拿大找到了DBA的工作,而且在美国经济衰退的裁员浪潮中巍然不动,甚至获得加薪. (不是骗人,人家干得确实很好.)

但有些具有多年经验的在职DBA却在被裁员后长期找不到工作.

有时真是百思不得其解.

刻苦。我想，这就是为什么有的人有经验找不到工作：有的人没

It seems impossible to get a position as Oracle DBA in North America without any IT experience. Although I had never worked as an Oracle DBA, I had worked for more than 6 years in IT industry and developed many application systems based on Oracle database before I came to Canada. My past experience is a great help to my current work.

It is true that some guys with many years DBA experience can not find job here. What I want to say is the job market is too cold and they are unlucky.
