stream 在9i的时候测试过，当时都是bug，后来就没再用过，现在他已经被gg给取代了，我身边没有人愿意用它 ...

也看了一下，stream没多人用，原来是不太稳定。GoldenGate这个软件没用过，具体价格也不便宜吧？稳定性怎么样？

软件价格这东西，你要去找oracle的代理去谈，没有固定的价格（因为有不同的折扣）~

We have lots of standby databases but never implement Data Guard Broker. The added layer of complexity that comes with its functionality is not worth it. We never need automatic failover/switchover anyway. We believe, if the primary site is so unusable, human intervention is absolutely needed. We'd rather do manual failover/switchover if the primary can't be brought online for the users.

I have two scripts that monitor the data guard environment:

one installed on the primary and the other on the standby. They're independent and serve different purposes.

We evaluated GoldenGate. It works as expected. But it's way too expensive, even after heavy discount. I think Oracle could make more money overall if the price were lower.

有时候安装broker是无奈的选择，如果想用grid control管理dg的数据库就必须要安装broker。许多公司希望统一管理监控所有数据库，就难免要用grid control。

Can I have a reference to that statement? We use Grid Control to monitor all databases including multiple data guard environments. But we never use Broker.

中国国情免费才受欢迎，broker好像还需要付费吧，很少见有人用
