REPORTS TO: Global Supplier Engineering & Quality, Senior Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for the quality of supplier product deliver to , the end users and interface with line of business or regional management and supplier when quality issues arise. Lead and drive the suppliers to root cause and corrective action on issue as well as guiding suppliers on continuous improvement processes. Co-lead with GCQM for development and implementation of quality management plan for new products introduced.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for:
1. Responsible for quality system and process audits and provide recommendation to Austin base Commodity Team and Global Commodity Quality Manager (GCQM).
2. Serves as the primary quality focal point between and the supplier manufacturing facility.
3. Interface and execution of quality tools, methodologies and requirements are fully implemented and met.
4. Provide leadership and work with GCQM or other functional team in resolving supplier quality issues which affect corporate metrics.
5. To lead and drive the supplier for continuous quality improvement processes ensuring quality goals and expectations are met.
6. Evaluate supplier’s performance and provide feedback to GCQM. Develop and administer improvement programs.
7. Identification and mitigation of potential quality risks to ’s supply chain to ensure continuity of supply. To include collaboration with Global Supply Manager.
8. Provide leadership, development and implementation of effective supplier’s quality structure/program at supplier manufacturing facility to support expectations.
9. Support Worldwide Procurement activities and initiatives to include timely and successful new product launch.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Strong command skills to lead the supplier’s quality team and to ensure implementation and execution of quality management plan and continuous improvement plan.
· Utilizes knowledge of statistical quality tools to drive and assist suppliers in their improvement.
· Knowledge/ability of implementation of advanced quality methodologies and control, D-FMEA, process control plan, sampling plans
· BPI or 6 Sigma certified preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Prefer engineering graduates with experience in mechanical engineering and applied/material science with minimum of four years related experience in the field of supplier quality. Mechanical design background will be an added advantage.
INTERACTIONS:
Lead conference calls and meetings, address questions with sense of urgency & ownership, receive and/or share information, promote, influence, advise, negotiate, and/or direct vendors, suppliers, peers, staff, and management within and outside the department.
