Except the hardware problems(RAM,HD,MB etc), the most possible reason is Win2000 can not identify MBR of your HD.
This maybe you have unix-like os on the HD or you had installed an Unix-like OS before, the MBR stays there.
Advise you use fdisk /mbr to rewrite the MBR . If it doesn't work, low-format the HD.

如果你不想升级win98 的花，应该从光盘直接启动安装。

我认为是BIOS需要升级，或者用NTFS格式把硬盘在格式一下，格式前重新分区，可能以前系统的注册表还在起作用。在试试吧...

以前，遇到过类似的问题，好像是你的硬盘的分区表有点问题，建议你，重新格式化硬盘啦！
