SRM has many products, sucha CSM, Negotiate,Strategic Sourcing,Product
Sourcing, Contract Management.

I think without the i2 SRM product, You can't understand anything about it

I think:
-From technical view,suc as,negotiation is nothing other than EAI/ETL/Data warehouseing/OLAP/game player portal.But question is that i2 build these all basing on partner's products.As the same methodology as i2's,user can build their solution basing on many 3rd vendor's solution,such as webMethods directly.I means that without i2 srm products user still run the negoatiation game.
-From biz view,such as,Sourcing,on the planning items deepth or planning items width i2's product need negotiate with ERP to say yes or no for a sourcing planning because user need ERP run capacity planning again and again to decide how a plant scheduling (workcenter,assembly line...) will be filled into with workload,material,headcount what bro ke by Sourcing planning.So,why not build this basing on ERP vendors' solution?

hehe,we can paly any game on any plarform.The key is biz,not software.

blueplus I assume you misunderstood the i2 negotiation product's function. It is different from what you said.

1,The first goal to be considered for improving the Supplier Negotiation process is to reduce the time spent in soliciting supplier bids and also in awarding contracts
2.In order to achieve this goal, there must be a clearly defined bid creation process.  Doing so will establish a uniform format for bids which can help toward creating a repeatable standard to be followed for future bid preparation.  
3.Another goal is to create a multiple round process for bidding.  The objective in doing this is to give suppliers the opportunity to refine their bids to be more competitive so that your company can realize the best total value possible across all suppliers.
4.Creating a method for standardizing the bid response format so that bidders provide complete information is another important goal in this process.  This is a critical component in the ability to analyze bid responses in a rapid, efficient manner.  This is one of the most time consuming steps in the bid request process.

What's your  view about the SCM software application in  China local manufacture area?
I always think that it is a technial problem ,especially not a SCM software problem.
