the switch will probably disable the port that your pc connect .
how about the LED on the switch and pccard?
and whether your pc connect to the switch directly or through wiring closet?

another solution is: you may download a new verion of your pccard's drive,maybe it can be useful

From what you described, it sounds like is the DHCP client problem.

right after you reboot your machine, go to control panel and service to see if DHCP client service is running.  Make sure it's set up at automatic.
also check to see what is the ruturn value of your ipconfig command the ip etc. make sure it is the same after you reapply the TCPIP setting.

Hi, dear all:

Sorry for not replying for 3 days, I went  to a small town to install Oracle9i On Thursday and Friday.

The problem is this machine is setup as "static IP", it should not be the issue of the DHCP. when I ipconifg /all, it seems that IP is correct. I know that the final solution is " reinstall OS", it won't take too much time, but I really want to know the reason.

Hi, guys:

I found the reason. My boss installed ZoneAlarm in the machine and disable something. then we remove remove zonealarm and remove from regedit.
Solution: reinstall zonealarm and then check the items he disable.
