Great job on this. As someone with 30 years of software industry experience (29 in Testing) I see some things here that make me reflect and consider what I need to relearn and learn anew. I've been in the testing trenches just like you and can relate. At times it has not been an easy career/experience, but when I see a product I worked on go live and work well I take both pride and satisfaction in my efforts.

I want to thank you for your advice. I came to my present job with high hopes. I implemented automation just to make my job easier. I got stuck. I came across this article arguably when i needed it the most. I am now moving to one of the big four in 2 weeks that value their testing staff and I cannot wait. Thanks again for helping me realise I needed to change.
