Re: Average Java developer in Northeast US earns 140KUSD, and

that's only 2.5 years experience. The survey's done this year. Managers earn a lot more than programmers, and that's a fact. I've friends in the States who earns $90/hour, that's equivalent to 180K annual rate. My sister-in-law who's just graduated last year, now earns over 80K, and that's base. Either they underpay you as an MBA, or it's not a really good MBA.
Obviously I have less than a year of experiences, not in Java as a programmer. Even $90/hr as a rate for those subcontractors, they have to make themselves on projects all year long to have that kind of salary. Of course, that's not the case for most programmers. Your number for Northeast US salary is only a sample, as far as the economy is concerned now, that's not the case. With options worth more than 200K/yr, I don't think I am underpaid, besides, I don't have to code as a programmer but manage some subcontractors. If the subcontractors are not good enough, they have to leave immediately. |
