我来讲讲HNG索引。正如distliu贴的图一样，从中间的图表可以看出，HNG是为了数据类型的数据计算用的。IQ的索引使用一定和使用场景有关。其他类型，建上不生效，是没有任何意义的。

Add an HNG index when you need to do range searches.

An HNG index requires approximately three times less disk space than an HG
index requires. On that basis alone, if you do not need to do group operations,
use an HNG index instead of a HG index.

Conversely, if you know you are going to do queries that a HG index handles
more efficiently, or if the column is part of a join and/or you want to enforce
uniqueness, use a HG index.

.log日志把空间给撑满了,不能登录IQ,报以下错误:
Could not connect to the database.
  Disk full 'Fatal error: disk full /opt/sybiq/data/query.log' --
  transaction rolled back
  SQLCODE=-304, ODBC 3 State="HY000"      
转储事务日志后,安装目录腾出来了10多个G的空间.但是还是登不上IQ,还是保上面的问题.于是决定重启IQ,但是停不下来:

        For more control, use the 'dbstop' utility, which has options
        that control stopping servers based on active connections.

           be waiting on a system or network lock or it may requires

可以直接杀进程吗?

我已经直接kill -9 进程了,但是IQ启不来了,报以下错误:

先加个-f 强起一下看看.
估计log出问题了

生产系统,我还怕丢数据,因为当时有数据加载.
