Infor today announced enhancements and improved functionality for Infor ERP LN, a robust enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that integrates essential business functions in a scalable, multi-language, open systems platform for discrete manufacturers.  Infor ERP LN Feature Pack 5 delivers advanced supply chain collaboration and improved assembly planning and control functionality.

The latest enhancements to Infor ERP LN include many customer requested enhancements and features that support improved business practices for vendor managed inventory, advanced subcontracting and customer management, as well as assembly control, kitting, and automating processes in aftermarket service. This new, enhanced version of ERP LN delivers greater visibility of transactions across the enterprise, enables users to make more informed business decisions and helps businesses be more agile.

"Market forces precipitate the need for an advanced ERP system that helps enterprises reduce costs to maintain margins, improve customer service and manage supply chain risk and compliance," said Russell Johns, senior director, industry & product marketing, Infor. "Each of the new enhancements were built to deliver greater value for customers, simplify implementation and reduce the cost of ownership. As we deliver new functionality through feature packs, customers can gain faster access to the enhancements they need without having to re-implement software or disrupt their business processes."

Infor ERP LN is Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-enabled through Infor Open SOA, providing for the seamless integration of complementary applications and new technology.

Additional enhancements specific to the automotive and aerospace industries include assembly line sequencing, a process using assembly line rules and constraints to generate optimized sequencing of orders to maximize throughput of the assembly line, which can reduce delivery lead times, as well as option based pricing, warehouse control of finished goods and improved assembly cost control.
