在看patrik jonsson的logistics and supply chain management.

其中讲到，retrieveing materials have 3 different principles:Kitting, Btching, and Continual supply.

书里是这么解释的：kitting means that the material for the object to be manufactured is retrieved from a store and delivered as a kit to  the production address where the material will be consumed

batching is another principle, meaning that large packages of the selection of items are moved as in the process of kitting, but they are not picked into special kits

也查了网上的一些解释，摘录如下：
Batching也是一个物流专用术语，是拣货作业中对定单进行捆绑操作的一种模式，叫batch picking。


Kitting-可以有2种意思

1.生产配件;

2打包备料这样一个过程

Kit原意为工具包，通过上面描述，主要是Supply Chain方面的LEAN Production的物料管理，采用Kit这样的理念，将物料配套为“工具包”——工具包其实我们很熟悉，例如我们会把很多常用的工具放在一个包内，象各种规格的套筒。在物料中，就是根据工作站物料的要求，打包配送，目的使该工作站物料齐套、利于识别和使用，并降低供应链成本。



但还是理解不了，哪位前辈能再解释解释两者到底有什么不同？

Kitting 主要是流通加工,比如说仓库里面的一些装配
batch picking 核心还是picking 分拣

除了都是英文单词 都和物流有关以外   没什么相同的地方

Kitting和Batching没有直接联系。kitting和assembling倒是值得区分一下。

kit
1) The components of a parent item that have been pulled from stock and readied for movement to a production area. 2) A group of repair parts to be shipped with an order.
在制造业中，kit可以理解为成套的部件，因为他们的需求点相同或装配过程有所关联而成套。

kitting
The process of constructing and staging kits.

你上面的3 different principles:Kitting, Batching, and Continual supply.
应该是针对制造业来说的，kitting是成组成套到达需求点，batching可能是某种部件有不止一个需求点，按批从存储点出来然后分别配送至各个需求点，当然这个批次可能是事先计算好的时间间隔或其他什么拉动的方式。
