Symptoms
When attempting to clone using "perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier"
The following error occurs:

Cause
During the Configuration of the APPS-Tier Technology Stack the opmn process tries to stop the Services. As opmn is not used in this case for the 10.1.2 ORACLE_HOME it should not have been started. The OUI (Oracle Universal Installer) is waiting for a failure or error of the opmn, which is not happening. As a result the OUI Cloning process is failing with a timeout, without touching the Technology Stack.

This issue is reported in unpublished Bug 5697740 - 'OPMN START FAILED DURING OH10.1.2 CLONING.'

Solution
To implement the solution/workaround, please execute the following steps :

Workaround 1 :

1. Start the adcfgclone again :

perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier
2. When it appears to hang again, check if opmn processes have been started :

ps -ef | grep opmn
If following result is presented, please follow next steps :

<user> <PID> 28462  0 <Time> pts/ta   0:00 <10.1.2 ORACLE_HOME>/opmn/bin/opmn -a -q ping
<user> <PID> 28459  0 <Time> pts/ta   0:00 <10.1.2 ORACLE_HOME>/opmn/bin/opmnctl stopall

3. Kill the "opmn -a -q ping" and the "opmnctl stopall" using the PID's presented in step 2 :

3.1 kill -9 <PID of opmn -a -q ping>
3.2 kill -9 <PID of opmnctl stopall>



The clone should continue now, in case it appears to hang again check if the opmn processes are started again and kill them until the clone continues.


Workaround 2:

1 - cat <10.1.2 ORACLE_HOME>/opmn/conf/opmn.xml | grep remote (and write down the remote number)

2 - edit <10.1.2 ORACLE_HOME>/opmn/conf/ons.conf

Change :

nodes=ap6004bld.us.oracle.com:15007

Into:

nodes=<AppsTier Hostname>:<Remote port number from 1>

3 - execute perl  adcfgclone.pl appsTier again

Symptoms
When attempting to install 12.1 VISION or FRESH install on Windows 2003 R2 (32-bit) server,
the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
The rapidwiz exactly fails in steps 3 of 5 at 53 % With error:

RW-50004: Error code received when running external process. Check log file for details. Running APPL_TOP Install Driver for <SID> instance.

The log file indicates that registration of the Applications Technology Stack failed with the following error:

RC-50013: Fatal: Failed to instantiate driver  <10.1.3 ORACLE_HOME>\appsutil\driver\regclone.drv

The referenced log file further indicates that AutoConfig failed with the following error:

Cause
This machine has been upgraded from windows 2000, the windows 2000 has been removed but the windows 2000 Resource KIT containing sc.exe was still in the PATH before the windows PATH. The ORACLE_HOME registration which uses sc.exe to create the OPMN Service hangs and causing the "RW-50004: Error code received when running external process" error

This problem may happen with a new install but also with the install of a upgraded filesystem.


Solution
1 - Remove sc.exe from the windows 2000 recourse KIT from the system PATH
2 - Be sure the correct sc.exe is used using "which sc.exe" which should point to c:\windows\system32
3 - Cleanup the Failed install using: Note 567507.1 - How to Remove an Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.x Windows Environment
4 - Install 12.1.1 again

Section 1: Overview
After staging the Rapid Install software with the adautostg.pl script or downloading the Rapid Install software from Oracle Electronic Delivery, the md5 checksums for the staged directory structure can be used to validate the software integrity. Do this by running the md5sum program against the stage area using the oracle created checksum file. This is not an official development document - this procedure was performed/tested using the downloadable Rapidwiz media.

Section 2: Download md5 checksum results from Oracle
Download the md5 checksum results from Oracle as posted below into a local file, for example <your platform> md5sum_.txt.

The attached files contain the md5 checksum results for every R12.1.1 release. Download the file corresponding to the used release and platform. The md5 checksum has been created without the startCD as it is often being updated, the checksum for the startCD's can be tested separately.

Release 12.1.1 Checksums currently available:
R12.1.1 - Windows
R12.1.1 - IBM AIX
R12.1.2 - Linux on IBM System z
R12.1.1 - Linux 32-bit
R12.1.1 - Linux 64-bit
R12.1.1 - Solaris Sparc 64-Bit
R12.1.1 - HP_UX
R12.1.1 - HP_UX Itanium

Release 12.1.x StartCD Checksums:

Section 3: Compare md5 checksums
Compare the Stage with the md5sums downloaded from Oracle (md5sum_.txt). There should not be any FAILED entry in the output. If a FAILED entrie was found, then the stage area was not created successfully. The stage have to be re-created for every component indicating differences (FAILED).

Note: The following example assumes the stage exists in /u01 for Unix and Linux, or F:\ for Windows customers.  

Execute the following example commands to check stage using the the md5 checksums


On Unix/Linux:

Install the md5sum utility for your platform if md5sum is not present on your system. If md5sum is not available from your OS Vendor for your OS version (for example HP 11.0), download and install the coreutils package from gnu.org .
$ cd /u01/StageR12
$ md5sum --check md5sum_Linux32.txt > md5sum_result.txt


On Windows:

MKS Toolkit or cygwin needs to be installed to be able to use mdm5sum.
F:\> cd StageR12
F:\StageR12> md5sum --check md5sum_Windows.txt > md5sum_result.txt

Note: The md5 checksum will validate the entire stage area and may take 10 minutes or more depending on hardware resources and system load.

When the md5sum command failed for all lines with error: ": FAILED open or read" try to make it a unix file using: dos2unix <checksum file> <checksum file>



Section 4: Disk overview, to be used when corrupted files are found
When a corrupted file is found the following can be used to identify which part needs to be re-downloaded from edelivery.
