Problem installing 9.2.0.2 patch
My current version of Oracle is 9.2.0.1. While applying the patch kit 9.2.0.2, I got the error from runInstaller saying:
"Error in writing to /oracle/bin/extproc32".
I have plenty of space in all file systems (over 1G in /tmp and 3G in /oracle). Oracle account and the DBA group owns just about everything under /oracle. I could see a new file created with about 4M contents in /oracle/bin/extproc32 every time I re-run the install. What could be the reason for it?

I managed to find out what the problem was after investigating the log files in detail. Turns out that my kit was corrupted! After get a new kit, it installed successfully.

Thanks for the update. In the future you can post patchset installation problems in the "Unix Installation OS/RDBMS" technical forum.
