My personal opinion to CS and MBA
HI, StevenZhaoyi,
My file's size is too big to send by using PM. I post on here.
I really sorry for my late.
I just want to give my personal opinion on the differences between CS major and MBA major in e-business.
I think you menas you are studying CS (computer science).
The Oracle11i and Peoplesoft are good software packages in HR and finance areas. As I mention before, computer is just a tool. If you want to implement those e-Business model in real environment, you just use ASP, JSP, or XML to realize those functions. However, no matter e-Business or other projects, you will face the same questions from the computer standpoint views. Your clients would give you those requirments, you just think how to address those requirments by using you computer skill. In my opinion, IT just give the opportunity to implement the e-business.
But, the most important is should be know how to design the e-business model. Of course, when you have compauter knowledge, it would be easy to apply new technolowedge in model. But, the most important is you should have strong business backgrounds and senses to design business model. This is why many students from MBA work as e-business consultan and many ERP (manifacture, finance, oil, ect. areas) consultants don't have any ideas about coding or ASP, JSP.
If you really want to develop in e-business, ERP areas, I think you can think about MBA major. In canada, UWO and UT have good business schools. Becuase, for computer major standpoint, there are no difference between e-business and usual projects, which just are jobs to you. From MBA standpoint, there are totally different business model.
This is just my personal opinion.
We can discuss those topics again. |
