This brings up another point I want to make. In my opinion, the work of translating English computer books to Chinese should be reserved for those books that are not purely technical and those with lots of words. Books on design, either data modeling (database design) or system architecture, are exactly this type of books. One additional benefit of translating these books is that the ideas of design last long, almost forever, compared to pure technology.

Real technical books can never catch up with technology because it changes on a daily basis, let alone a translated version. That's why technical books are less popular than before; people go to the Internet to find answers than reading these books. In addition, technical books are full of commands and output, and have less words. Chinese readers less fluent in English can read them just fine.

If anybody wants to translate Steven Roman's "Access Database Design & Programming", specifically the database design part of it, I'm willing to do proofreading for him.
