How to clone a Peoplesoft Domain:

Scnario: Clone a product domain (FPRD89) to a testing domain (FTST89)

OS environment:
IBM aix 5.2, application server, scheduler, and database
Windows server 2003, NT scheduler, PIA

Software:
PIA - Weblogic 8.1 with SP3
Database - Oracle 9.2.0.7

Step 1, Clone database
1)        make the directories for database data files (first time only.  If you like to refresh the testing domain, please see “How to refresh peoplesoft testing domain)
2)        copy database datafiles
3)        Database environment:  initial parameter file
4)        recreate control files with new domain’s name
5)        modify superuser’s password of production database/modify schedulers’ name and report nodes’ name inside database

Step 2, Create PS_HOME
1)        copy PS_HOME of demo domain to New FTST89 PS_HOME such as /psoft/ftst89
2)        create a new application domain for FTST89
3)        create a new scheduler for FTST89
4)        create a new windows scheduler for FTST89
5)        create a new PIA for FTST89

Step 3, Logging to PIA to check all environment setup and configurations, and run several testing report of SQR and CRSTRAL and others (such as REN if you are using it).
